A great hero has been pulled down by his own arrogance. It wasn't enough for him to help people. He felt he had to collect something for his trouble. He chose a citizen of the city he protected and made her pay the full price. Mr. Way and the Fearsome Shade put an end to that, but the Beacon's crimes are just the beginning.

"The Beacon, asserting himself."

A crime is not just the criminal and the deed. There's a lot of the Beacon's guilt left to resolve. Since he can access other minds, his method of dumping guilt goes far beyond denial.

Mr. Way and the Fearsome Shade confront the fruits of the Beacon's reign of terror on Samdy, and discover another world just one step over where the Beacon is very busy indeed.
