Making Fascism at Home: Social Reproduction, Financialization and the Far Right

Gago examines why Javier Milei's government in Argentina has embraced an anarcho-libertarian capitalist project that elevates anti-feminism to the level of state policy, mobilizing cruelty against social groups that have been at the forefront of recent struggles.It develops a conceptual framework for what she calls the "fascization of social reproduction": a political theory of value that reveals how contemporary conflicts are fought over the conditions of collective life itself. As social reproduction becomes an existential terrain of struggle, financial valorization increasingly wages a direct, immanent assault on the ways collective life is organized in order to endure.
