In a world of ordinary days, a child did play,
Through ups and downs, the Lancashire lad found his way.
Becoming a soldier, brave and true,
Facing battles and peacekeeping too.

Shoulder to shoulder with his loyal wife, he found his home,
Together they built a life and were no longer alone.
Children brought joy, laughter, and light,
Their family strong, through day and night.

Escorting Royalty was a privileged achievement,
Running marathons and his hobby of art were fulfilment.
His ambition was achieved, but still cost tears,
Retiring from the army after 27 challenging years.

From an ordinary beginning, extraordinary he became,
A story of resilience, love, sacrifice and pain.
Through life's journey, he shone bright,
An ordinary child, now a beacon of light.
