Le Citazioni Di Aristofane Nel Lessico dell'Antiatticista

The Attic lexicon from the 2nd century AD, called Antiatticista, mainly deals with "non-canonical" authors and everyday expressions. But it also contains a large number of quotations from "canonical" authors such as Aristophanes. This Italian-language book offers the first comprehensive analysis of Aristophanes' quotations in the Antiatticista. It offers a thorough examination of these quotations in terms of transmission history and comparison with other works of ancient scholarly literature, as well as through linguistic studies of post-classical Greek. In this way, it deepens knowledge of the Aristophanic comedies (especially their language and tradition) and contributes to a better understanding of this lexicon.
