Between the end of the fourteenth and the beginning of the fifteenth century, prudence serves as the foundation for an oligarchy in full reconfiguration. It became the ideological reference of the Albizzi regime, and the main source of legitimacy for an elite that intended to appropriate the monopoly of saying and doing well.
