La Novellisation: Du Film Au Roman. Novelization: From Film to Novel

Ce livre est le tout premier à aborder une pratique culturelle méconnue : la " novellisation ", c'est-à-dire la conversion d'un film en livre. En fait, le terme désigne tous les procédés d'adaptation d'oeuvres cinématographiques ou télévisées sous la forme d'oeuvres littéraires. La novellisation est une pratique fort ancienne, mais peu étudiée. Ce livre fait d'abord le point sur l'histoire de cette pratique et s'intéresse également à la manière dont la novellisation dépend fortement des traditions culturelles nationales ou régionales. Ensuite, il examine la novellisation dans ses rapports avec d'autres formes de transmédialisation dans la culture médiatique contemporaine. Enfin, il esquisse les cadres d'une future recherche sur ce champ totalement nouveau. This is the first book on " novelization ", i.e. the transformation of a film into a novel. Actually the term of " novelization " qualifies all types of adaptations of films and television in literary form. Novelization is not a new cultural form, but despite its richness and variety it has never been studied seriously. The book gives a survey of the history of this practice, emphasizing strongly the influence of national and regional cultural traditions. Moreover, it studies the relationships between novelization and other types of transmedialisation in contemporary media society. Finally, it attempts also to sketch a research program in this completely new field.
