La Memoire Des Lettres: La Lettre Dans Les Memoires Du Xviie Siecle

Analysing the status of correspondence in seventeenth-century memoirs, this study shows how the letter can represent the past and remodel an experience of time. As a symbol of the density of reality, a relic, and as a "scar of action", the letter becomes part of the poetics of the memoir.
