La Joya

The Jewel means wealth and beauty, but for Violet, it means submission. She grew up in the Marsh and was brought up to serve royalty. She finds works at the estate of the Duchess of the Lake, where she discovers that behind the glittery facade lies a brutal, violent reality. She meets a young man who is also under the control of the Duchess and soon they do something forbidden...they fall in love. Now they must find a way to survive and escape the future for which they had been groomed their whole lives.
