Ruth Billingsley graduated from the University of Oklahoma with a Master's Degree in Education and taught for 21 years. Now retired, she lives in Arkansas with her husband, Bob. She is an active member of Boundless Grace Baptist Church in Rogers, Arkansas. She serves as treasurer of the Glade Community Historical Society and owns a one-room schoolhouse that is listed on the National Historic Register. She enjoys traveling, fly fishing, and writing.
