Journey to the End of Islam

Visiting holy sites from Pakistan to Syria, Egypt and Ethiopia, Knight wanders through one Muslim country after another, navigating the many conflicting visions of his chosen religion. Knight's travels conclude at Islam's spiritual centre, the holy city of Mecca. During the rites of pilgrimage, he watches as all variations of Islam converge in one place, under the strict supervision of Saudi Arabia's religious police. What results is a struggle to separate the personal from the political, as Knight searches for his own relationship to his religion.
