Introduction to Alchemy

A survey of alchemy and alchemical ideas written in 1705 by the professor of surgery at Jena, doctor, and alchemical enthusiast, Georg Wolfgang Wedel (1645-1721). It is divided into twenty-one sections each exploring an aspect of alchemy. These sections include: On the foundations of the Art; On the Universal Matter; of common Mercury, or Quicksilver; Inquiry into Antimony; On the furnace, expenses and uses; On alchemical authors and writers; On various Hieroglyphics; On the Apparatus and Operations; and others.
