Interkulturalitat, Ubersetzung, Literatur: Das Beispiel Der Prager Moderne
Synopsis
Prague forms a hub of Central European Modernism, which is characterized by diverse interdependencies between German, Jewish and Czech culture. These cultural interrelationships also determined the development of Prague literatures around 1900. The articles in this anthology present a synthesis of Germanic and bohemian research, with which the specific interculturality of Prague and the Bohemian countries in the modern age is worked out. In addition to well-known authors such as Franz Kafka, lesser-known literary professionals are examined and topics such as cultural difference and foreignness, as well as cultural mediation and translation, are examined from an interdisciplinary perspective. The contributions make it clear that these authors always found themselves in the role of cultural mediators.
