Images of the Sea and the Coast: Masterpieces

In 2019, the Museum Kunst der Westküste is celebrating its tenth anniversary! The MKdW is dedicated to maritime art created between 1830 and 1930 in the four countries bordering the North Sea: Norway, Denmark, Germany, and the Netherlands. The anniversary exhibition reveals the entire spectrum of the museum's holdings and is complemented by works from other top-class collections. A century of painting is thus presented, in which important artistic developments of the modern era broke new ground.
