This book was born from a cycle of lessons held in 2023 by the prestigious La Colombaria Academy (Florence) and dedicated to important female figures in Western culture. From the Etruscan Tanaquil, wife of Tarquinius Priscus, who excelled in Rome in her political role as queen, we reach Hypatia of Alexandria, who lived at the beginning of the 5th century AD. The latter, a Neoplatonic scientist and philosopher, is also one of the most famous martyrs.
