If poetry is language, if poetry is fabrication, if poetry invents worlds or finds in them others that we did not expect, then Laura Ramos' poetry is great poetry, expected and necessary poetry. Just as I was a negotiator of the night --a verse by Anne Carson-- tells a love story between two people from two different worlds: the real world, perhaps ours, and the mythical world of Nonú, which we already know from previous installments by the author. Cultural differences generate a series of dynamics of violence between its protagonists: motherhood, environmentalism and the creation of a whole mythology around Nonú configure the structure of the poem collection, which is presented as a modernization of the epic genre and the romance.
