Historic Environment Law: Planning, Listed Buildings, Monuments, Conservation Areas and Objects : Supplement 2014

In the UK, much has happened in the two years since the publication of Richard Harwood's Historic Environment Law, not least the introduction and changes of the UK's Enterprise and Regulatory Reform Act 2013. Amongst other amendments, these abolished conservation area consent and introduced heritage partnership agreements, listed building consent orders, and certificates of lawfulness of proposed works. The final changes came into force in April 2014 and are fully discussed in this supplement. The book analyzes the new provisions, including the secondary legislation. It also updates extensive UK case law on the historic environment policies in the National Planning Policy Framework and the statutory duty of special regard to listed buildings, changes to design and access statements, the new Scheduled Monuments policy, the Planning Practice Guidance, and the creation of the Planning Court.
