Hermann Dorries (1895-1977): Ein Kirchenhistoriker Im Wandel Der Politischen Systeme Deutschlands

The church historian Hermann Dorries (1895-1977) lived through a variety of political systems in Germany during the twentieth century, from the Kaiserreich up to up to the country being divided into a federal republic and the communist east. This study - as much a biography as an analysis of Dorries' oeuvre - illuminates the interdependencies between Dorries' work as a church historian and his (political) surroundings.
