Haunted (Sequel to Dark Secret)

Six months after an operation to remove a bullet that almost kills her, Prunella Samuels begins working for Nichols' private detective agency. Her duties consist of booking appointments, running errands and making the tea, all of which she finds incredibly boring-until she receives a mysterious phone call from a man asking her to find his missing sister.

Despite doubts and fears that the caller might be connected to her criminal past, or even the notorious serial killer who shot her, Pru agrees to investigate, hoping to prove her worth as a detective. As the investigation continues, the mysterious caller kidnaps her friend, Denise, forcing Pru to return to an abandoned military base where the shooting took place. The kidnapper admits to a twisted game involving another criminal connected to a spate of ritual murders. After a tense confrontation, Pru and Denise are rescued, though the experience leaves Pru traumatized and with unexplained physical and psychological effects. Her only hope of making a complete recovery is to revisit her illicit past and identify the shadow man who haunts her.
