German-British relations from the eighteenth to the twentieth century were influenced intensively by the existence of dynastic links between Britain and various German courts. Examples of such ties are the Personal Union with the Electorate of Hanover and the marriage of Queen Victoria and Prince Albert of Saxe-Coburg and Gotha. The interdependences and interrelations resulting from these connections are analysed by the 14 papers contained in this volume.
