First, there's Keith Talent: a bad guy. The kind of guy who is trying to sell you something - perfume, a ride into town, some dirty pictures. He's that kind of guy, a bad guy, and one with a lot of hair.
Then, there's Guy Clinch. Guy is the kind of guy who has everything - except intelligence. Or a baby girl. He wanted a baby girl, but instead the wife delivered a monster.
And finally there's Nicola Six. She's trouble. Ruined careers, ruined marriages, ruined lives - this is the stuff she leaves behind. But the past is not Nicola's problem. It's the future. Nicola Six is the murderee.
