Fragmenta Hebraica Austriaca: Akten Der Session 'Hebrew Manuscrpits and Fragments in Austrian Libraries' Des International Meeting Der Society of Biblical Literature in Wien, Am 26. Juli 2007

English summary This volume contains four papers delivered during the International Meeting of the Society of Biblical Literature held in 2007 in Vienna. It presents the current results and the future plans of the "Hebrew Manuscripts and Fragments in Austrian Libraries" project, begun in 1991 by Prof. DDr. Ferdinand Dexinger. Images of the Hebrew text fragments in Austria recorded so far (particularly biblical, rabbinic and liturgical texts) have been available since 2007 in an online catalogue on the website of the Commission of Paleography and Codicology of Medieval Manuscripts in Austria. The topics discussed in these papers include the methodology and aims of the project, an assessment of the results from a Judaic perspective, the presentation of a particularly important fragment discovered in St. Paul im Lavanttal, and a discussion of special characters in fragments of Torah scrolls. This publication will be of interest to Judaists, theologians and philologists. German description: Der Band vereint vier, anlasslich des International Meeting 2007 der Society of Biblical Literature in Wien gehaltene Vortrage uber Zwischenergebnisse und Perspektiven des Projekts Hebraische Handschriften und Fragmente in osterreichischen Bibliotheken, das der 2003 verstorbene Wiener Judaist Prof. DDr. Ferdinand Dexinger vor 18 Jahren initiiert hatte. Die bisher in Osterreich aufgefundenen hebraischen Fragmente (vor allem Bibeltexte, rabbinisches Schrifttum und Liturgica) werden seit 2007 in einem standig erweiterbaren Online-Katalog auf der Website der Kommission fur Schrift- und Buchwesen des Mittelalters mit Abbildungen publiziert. Die Beitrage des Tagungsbandes befassen sich mit Methodik, Ablauf und Zielen des Projekts, der Beurteilung der bisherigen Ergebnisse aus judaistischer Sicht, der Prasentation eines besonders wichtigen Fragmentfundes aus St. Paul im Lavanttal und mit Sonderbuchstaben in Torarollenfragmenten. Die Publikation richtet sich vor allem an Judaisten, Theologen und Philologen.
