Since my adolescence, I knew that politics was my calling. When I registered as a candidate for the Wisconsin Assembly in 2022, I didn't fully anticipate the challenges the campaign would bring, the skeletons it would uncover (both true and untrue), or the friendships I would forge with fellow politicians and constituents who fought alongside me through it all.

The general public's perception of how this process works is far from the reality of it. The trials and tribulations you suffer in public service are heavy. I quickly learned that if you put your life into buckets - family, health, and career -a political role draws from all three, but not equally or simultaneously. The challenges of public service are difficult and understated, but despite their difficulty, the work is well worth the sacrifice.
