οἱ μὲν πάντες ἄλλοι ταῦροι τρέχουσι καὶ ἅλλονται καὶ τὰς κεφαλὰς παρ' ἀλλήλους τύπτουσιν. ὁ δὲ Φερδινάνδος ἂν αἱροῖτο καθήμενος τῶν ἀνθῶν ὀσφραίνεσθαι. τοῦτο δὲ δὴ ἔπραττε ἕως οὗ βομβυλιός τις καὶ τῶν ἐν τῇ Ματρίτῃ ταυρομαχιῶν ἔνιοί γε ἄνδρες ἀφικόμενοι καιρὸν δοῖεν τῷ πράῳ Φερδινάνδῳ γενέσθαι ἀγριώτατον μὲν καὶ ἄριστον ἐν τοῖς ἀγῶσιν-καὶ δὲ δὴ καὶ ἀπροσδόκητον ἐν τοῖς μάλιστα τῶν κωμικῶν ἡρώων γε.
