Etruria and the Origins of the Etruscans

This book is a contribution to Etruscan archaeology stemming from the belief that, because of the lack of written records, the historian and the archaeologist must step in to become shrewd detectives and inspect the scene of the crime to obtain evidence of the facts.

It looks minutely at the material evidence on the ground during the day and at night, displaying graphically the evidence and showing the reader the resulting facts and possible new interpretations. Breaking the bounds of common place perceptions, it presents an entirely fresh image of Etruria that has been overlooked, one deeply rooted in the land and natural environment.
