Synopsis

This text is a stage in the work that led to the development of generic epistemology and the proposal of a new style in philosophy, taking into account its inherent multiplicity. It develops, in parallel, an examination and analysis of the general hypotheses of epistemology on the one hand, and their philosophical significance on the other. The relationships that one philosophy maintains with other philosophies (acceptance, criticism, correction, rejection, encounters, transitions between them, archaeology) depend on how it situates itself in relation to other disciplines. In this complex space between philosophies and sciences, epistemology functions as an elaborate common sense, which allows us to think about their relationships in a new way. Rather than "the" philosophy of science, it is about the interrelationships and interactions between philosophies and sciences and their ethical implications. The author proposes some hypotheses for thinking about the multiplicity of relationships between science and philosophy. This work precedes the publication of L'Age de l'épistémologie (Kimé, 2001) and the correspondence between Russell and Couturat (Kimé, 2001).
