This book follows the classical structure of engineering mechanics as it is taught at universities of applied sciences and universities in Germany, and focuses on statics-that is, the study of bodies at rest under the action of forces. The aim of the book is to provide students with a clear and accessible introduction to statics and to enable them to independently formulate and solve engineering problems. To this end, it offers a range of examples. The book is intended for students of mechanical engineering, civil engineering, mechanics, and all other disciplines in which statics plays a role.
