Many different sports have to deal with doping violation. This is a problem not only to competitors but also to all fans and sports federations. As a solution the international cycling federation established an amends. All athletes subject themselves under a self-commitment which inflicts them not to use illicit drugs. In case of non-compliance the athletes agree on paying a contractual penalty in the amount of a years salary to the federation. This raises questions about the legal admissibility under German and European civil and competition law.
