Synopsis
"The Septuaginta between Judaism and Christianity." (Text in German.)
For most theologists, the Septuaginta is unknown country, although it was the first bible of the earliest Church - especially in the East. Protestants have come to consider the hebrew-pharisaic canon as more important than the writings of the Septuaginta - at a loss of coherence of Old and New Testaments. This coherence is, however, established through the "superfluous" texts of the Septuaginta, which show that "Law and Prophets" include John the Baptist. Neither the early Church nor the New Testament can be understood without taking the Septuaginta into consideration.
