Delie: Objet De Plus Haute Vertu

Maurice Sceve's Delie (1544) set the trend for collections which was to develop among the poets of the Pleiade. Its 449 dizains are punctuated by fifty emblems, making this already complex text - which could pass for an attempt at pure poetry, some 300 years before Mallarme - even stranger.
