Das Prinzip Menschenwurde - Eine Einfuhrung

Following Ernst Bloch's principle of hope and Hans Jonas's principle of responsibility, a third "principle" has, in the transition to the third millennium, moved to the centre of philosophical debate: that of "human dignity". This study traces the emergence of the concept and attempts to illustrate the most significant aspects of its reception in the field of law. In addition, the work also discusses the course of legal-philosophical debates up to and including those elicited by bio-medical developments.
