**William Stanley Merwin** has won the Pulitzer Prize for *The Carrier of Ladders*, and for *The Shadow of Sirius.* In addition to his brilliant trajectory as a poet, he has translated many classic works of world literature such as *The Poem of the Cid*, *The Song of Roland,* and *Lazarillo de Tormes*.
