Synopsis

CIL II²/14,2 comprises the first part of the comprehensive edition of the Roman, that is mainly Latin but also a few Greek inscriptions from Tarraco, the capital of the Roman province of Hispania Citerior. The modern town of Tarragona is home to a rich collection of Roman sources that is of great importance for research into the history of Spain in Antiquity. In this fascicle Geza Alföldy presents the votive and honorary inscriptions, as well as inscriptions for emperors, including the famous monumental inscription from the amphitheatre. The material is documented with illustrations and an extensive commentary.
