Cold War Games: Der Kalte Krieg in Computerspielen (Ca. 1980-1995)

In a series of exemplary analyses, this study sheds light on how computer games made their media-specific contribution to the construction of the Cold War in the historical context of the last phase of the systemic conflict. They proved to be translators of Cold War specialist knowledge into popular culture and discursive ridge-walkers between simulation and play. The book thus contributes to the understanding of computer games as sources of cultural history.
