Chuckles is a little black dog who was taken to the veterinary hospital to be put to sleep, as his owner did not want to take care of his health problems. A woman who was having her dog treated by the vet overheard Chuckles' owner explaining why he wanted to put his dog down, and she offered to take Chuckles home with her. This book is written entirely from the perspective of Chuckles and details his life experiences in his old home and his new life.
