English summary: This volume contains a selection of 15 contributions stemming from a conference of the same name held in July 2008 in honor of the Erlanger Orientalist Wolfdietrich Fischer. Wolfdietrich Fischer, who held the chair of Oriental Philology at the University of Erlangen-Nuremberg from 1964 to 1995, provided impetus in his dissertation on the study of the colloquial Arabic for the world-renowned Arab dialectology in Germany, and with additional works on Arabic philology, grammar and poetry shaped German Arabic studies and brought them international acclaim. The contributions are devoted to these priorities, and the volume is divided thematically into three chapters.
