Antisemitismus in Osterreich 1933--1938

The extensive volume paints a frightening picture of the diversity of anti-Semitism in Austria in the years before the "Anschluss" to Nazi Germany in 1938 - although the 1934 constitution guaranteed equal rights for all German citizens regardless of religious belief. In addition to official government policy, the articles deal in particular with anti-Semitism in associations, parties, religious societies, in cultural and educational policy, science and business, but also Jewish strategies against anti-Semitism and intra-Jewish anti-Semitism. The authors belong to a wide variety of disciplines, above all history, politics, literature and musicology as well as law.
