Synopsis

Cami is fifteen. A history enthusiast, she tells her fictional family epic from the 1920s to the 2000s. The story unfolds in South Australia, Papua New Guinea and Byron Bay.

Cami's grandfather imposes his beliefs on his five children, some of whom rebel. Cami questions his narrow-minded perspectives. Her grandmother's secret voice questions everything. One aunt is Cami's role model. Cami explores identity, freedom, faith and feelings. She speculates on family secrets.

Angel's Watch is a story about Australia's changing social landscape. The book is a must-read for readers fascinated by the postwar generation, sibling dynamics, growing up with religious repression and the challenge of breaking free from family constraints.

Despite a lifetime of narrow-minded conservatism, the story is optimistic as honesty and family bonds emerge. Freedom is possible. There is a positive and surprising ending. An angel is watching over the family.
