"I need you to help me hide a body."

The message doesn't faze Mandy Perkins. For fifteen years, she and her best friend Christina have been using the phrase as code for "drop everything and help me clean up a mess." Hair dye disasters. Breakup emergencies. No actual corpses involved.

When Christina asks her to come over after dark and help bury a chest, Mandy doesn't think twice-she grabs a shovel. But the next morning, Christina and her husband are both missing, and suddenly Mandy worries that an inside joke may have become deadly serious.
