Notoriously belligerent race car driver Jordan Rubie is grappling with the aftermath of a potentially career-ending crash. Escaping his past and the whirlwind of the last few months at Rubie Racing, he finds himself in a charming beachside town in Wales, ahead of his twin sister Mia's wedding.

After a chance meeting with Pearl, an advice columnist dealing with moral dilemmas of her own, Jordan makes a spur-of-the-moment decision: he'll invite Pearl to Mia's Scottish castle wedding extravaganza.

The impulsive move takes them on a roadtrip through the idyllic countryside, getting to know each other and the lives they have both been trying to run from. But Pearl soon discovers it's not the detour from family drama she hoped for - and Jordan finds that he has more than broken bones to heal…
