Misfortune's Daughters

Venetia and Atlanta Stephanopolis are the privileged daughters of international shipping tycoon, Nicholas, and Hollywood actress, Laura. Venetia, clearly her father's favourite, is conventionally beautiful and used to getting whatever her heart desires: designer clothes, sports cars and men - lots of them. But her good fortune drags her down and she has to confront harsh realities as her depraved lifestyle leads her to drug addiction. By contrast, plain Atlanta, unloved yet intelligent, escapes her unhappy childhood by totally transforming her looks and boosting her self-esteem as she pursues a high-flying career in magazine publishing, meeting a steady stream of the rich and famous. The sisters' fierce rivalry reaches a dramatic climax when their father's actions force them to compete for the ultimate prize.
