Becoming Belle

In 1887, Isabel Bilton is the eldest of three daughters of a middle-class family. Escaping the countryside for London, nineteen-year-old Isabel takes the city by storm. As Belle, the star of a dancing double act, she reigns over the Empire Theatre and the Corinthian Club, where she falls in love with an aristocrat and becomes the Countess of Clancarty - dubbed 'the peasant countess' by the press. Becoming Belle is the story of Belle's rapid ascent and the people that tried to tear her down. Inspired by a true story, this is a rags-to-riches tale of a woman ahead of her time.
